For those of you who follow these reports and our monthly newsletters, I would like to point out that 2011 is the last year we will close in May. The weather patterns have changed and the intense heat we used to suffer in May no longer happens, so from 2012 we will no longer close […]

The 2009 yearly review for Gillhams Fishing Resorts is set out below, with many of the highlights from the best freshwater fishing in Thailand if not the world. 2008 Review Gillhams Fishing Resorts Krabi Thailand

What a year 2008 was – it was the first full year Gillhams was open. We first opened the doors to anglers in August 2007, and the very first anglers to fish were my old friends Terry Eustace and Joe Taylor. Terry caught his first ever arapaima here, and to this day it is still […]

Krabi Hot Springs

The hot springs is very nice and relaxing day out for the whole family. The water from the springs runs at around 40 to 45 degrees C and after relaxing in the water for just five to ten minutes you will already feel the stress leaving your body, leaving you feeling fresh and relaxed. Hot water rises from several springs and flows through a forest until it tumbles down a bluff into a stream. Over the course of hundreds of years, the minerals dissolved in the water have been deposited on the rocks in such a way as to form large, deep pools of water.

Emerald Pools

If you’re the kind of person that likes the outdoors then here’s a trip for you – Emerald Pool, or Crystal Lakes as some people call it. The Emerald Pool is made up of many natural pools where the water has run through porous rocks from mountain springs, which has given it the color and clarity, leaving it looking like blue lagoons hidden in the rainforest. On arrival you will have the option of walking directly to the pools on a comfortable sandy track roughly 1.2 kilometers straight through the forest or a slightly longer track of 1.8 kilometers through the jungle

Krabi Newsletter March 2013

Hello everybody. I hope you all enjoyed Geoff’s ramblings last month, but if you didn’t don’t worry because Stuart and I are back. You haven’t escaped Geoff totally as he will be writing about some of you from March along with Jut Cole, as these are probably the only two guides at Gillhams capable of both reading and writing. We would never be so cruel as to making you read things from Chris Pache aka Mumbles, as he probably writes the way he talks. Nor would we subject you to the broken English and gypsy slang of illiterate Lee.
March has been an extremely hot month as always, leading to some very burnt guests including one lady who collapsed after sitting

Krabi newsletter February 2013

Well hello everybody and welcome to the Gillhams Fishing Resorts newsletter for February 2013. As you know, Stuart and Sean have been on the piss… oops, sorry… I meant advertising the fishing in Thailand in roadshows across Europe. Stuart doesn’t look much different, but I know they went up north to God’s country and did a talk to the Wigan Pike Anglers Club. Now for those who don’t know Wigan, it is very famous for its meat pies and a Wigan kebab is six meat pies on a skewer. Anyway, it looks like Sean visited every pie shop in the area, as he appears to be sporting a few more chins than
