PANAMA 2012
I first fished in Panama in 1995 and the fishing was spectacular; the best blue water fishing I had come across anywhere in the world. Due to other destinations calling and the sale of my scaffolding company, followed by my leaving the UK and building my own fishing resort here in Thailand www.gillhamsfishingresorts.com it was to be 17 years before I made a return. I had kept in touch with the fishing over there and friends told me it was still as good as ever, but it was still with a niggle of a doubt that I made plans to return.
Elephant Sanctuary
Elephant in Thai, translates to ‘Chang’. Fancy getting up close and personal with these magnificent creatures? This is probably our most popular day trip with our guests.
Krabi Island
Krabi is famous for its islands, as the Andaman sea hosts some of the most spectacular islands on the planet with their towering limestone cliffs along with soft white sandy beaches and small coves. There are hundreds of huge limestone cliffs scattered all around Krabi and Phang Nga with a further 154 islands offering many different places to visit whether you want to relax on the white sandy beachess or go snorkeling and diving. Some of the islands even have restaurants and cheap bamboo hut accommodation.
Quad Biking (ATV)
ATV in Krabi is a great way to spend the day. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced rider, there are routes to please all levels of riders, through rivers and along mountain edges. Located just few minutes drive from our resort. Very popular with our guests.

Krabi has many different tours available for the whole family, but if you’re looking for something new than why not try rock climbing? Even if you are an experienced climber you will not be disappointed. Krabi is famous for its huge limestone karsts so it’s only natural that Krabi has some of the best climbs in the world. Sea Kayaking
The Krabi sea cave tour is a must do trip when visiting Krabi. This trip is suitable for all ages. Even if you are not very fit you can have a guide do all the work for a small tip leaving you to just sit back and take in the stunning views. The trip is set in Bor Thor Village, 35 minutes from Gillhams Fishing Resorts, with a stunning backdrop of limestone karsts surrounded by the National Park jungle. As you paddle through the thick mangrove forests that line the path to the sea caves you will see an abundance of wildlife
Tiger Cave Temple Krabi
The Tiger Cave Temple, or Wat Tham Seua as the Thais call it, is well worth a visit even if religion isn’t something you’re into. The Tiger Temple is a magnificent place and is the most sacred place in Krabi province with 250 monks and nuns living inside the compound. The temple got its name due to the huge tiger claw shaped lime stone rock close to the temple entrance. The site is a microcosm of Krabi’s former natural environment.
Krabi Waterfalls
Krabi is surrounded by national parks and thick lush rainforest with hundreds of waterfalls. Unfortunately there are only a handful that are easily accessible by short walks along beautiful jungle trails. Some of the waterfalls have a few different levels, each with their own plunge pools, some shallow only allowing you to sit and paddle in, while others have deep pools where you can jump off the sides of mountain ledges into the cool mountain spring water.
